Software update
Here are the highlights.
In US style, a lot of complaining and whining around this message:
Audi have released the software updates for the Q6 & SQ6
A software update is available for the Audi Q6 e-tron. The new software version contains a series of measures intended to improve quality, as well as several functional enhancements. The software update improves several functions and reduces the occurrence of unjustified warning messages. For example, the vehicle’s charging functions and their availability have been optimised.
....
This applies to features such as the use of speech recognition via the Audi assistant, the navigation system and for mobile phone connections. Occupant detection, sound output and the content displayed on the screens have also been optimised. In addition to this, the digital key function has been activated on vehicles with this optional equipment.
Folks book those cars in, It takes around 3 hours once started so you will need to leave your car for the day at the workshop
As cars need to be updated at a workshop (NOT OTA) and takes a considerable amount of time it maybe a week or two before they can do the update.
And then a message that all booked updates have been cancelled and must be rebooked (like your own)...
In most cases, the dealers are "practising" on their own vehicles first.
Some more about the content of the update, presumably from Audi US website:
Current issues customers have experienced, but not limited to are:
Traffic Sign Recognition / Speed in Km v MPH
Key User Set Up not completed or recognised
Incorrect Data Pack, Set up shows 17 month not 3 years - Fixed for most users
Alerts in German ( in UK Market) - Fixed - No further reports
App Reporting Faults but not on MMI - Audi aware, working on control unit updates
Plug & Charge Certificate not accepted by MMI - Mixed reports fixed by 03.01 update
Missing Features:
Digital Key - Feature added to 03.01.00/ C update. Will work with Apple & Android wallet

I have not had the update yet , and this looks like another reason to avoid it !! , but my app shows an error of charging system incompatible. Please check charging system.
It has only ever been plugged into my home charger so nothing has changed.
This model / marque really does seem to be a disaster for software , can't wait until the contract is up so I can go back to BMW ....

If only BMW were better, google search shows they have issues also, I think you just need to find a good working car and stick with it.TractorBoy wrote: ↑Tue Feb 18, 2025 12:47 am I have not had the update yet , and this looks like another reason to avoid it !! , but my app shows an error of charging system incompatible. BMW electric vehicles (EVs) have had issues with battery software, electrical systems, and the artificial sound generation system.
Battery software
In January 2023, BMW recalled over 14,000 2022–2023 i4, iX, and i7 EVs due to faulty battery software. The software could cause a sudden loss of power, increasing the risk of a crash.
In July 2024, BMW recalled 2022 i4 and 2022–2023 iX EVs due to problems with the high voltage battery combined charging unit (CCU).
Electrical systems
BMW vehicles have sophisticated electrical systems that can experience glitches. This can lead to issues like unresponsive screens, non-functioning buttons, or malfunctioning controls.
Artificial sound generation system
In January 2024, BMW recalled nearly 5,000 2024 i5 EVs due to a software issue with the artificial sound generation system. This system helps alert pedestrians to the presence of the electric car.
